Include your iPhone model, iOS version, computer operating system, connection mode, and exact error message. Do not send pairing keys, private stream URLs, camera footage, or other sensitive content.

Requirements

  • iPhone running iOS 26 or later.
  • Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 14.4 or later, or an x64 PC running Windows 11.
  • For Wi-Fi: both devices on the same trusted private network.
  • For Direct USB: a data-capable cable, unlocked and trusted iPhone, and Apple's USB device service.
  • NoSub Camera provides native webcam output without OBS. Approve the camera extension on Mac or install the camera component on Windows.

Quick setup

  1. Install and open NoSub Studio on the computer.
  2. Select Wi-Fi or Direct USB.
  3. Click Show pairing QR in NoSub Studio, then Scan pairing QR on iPhone. You can also enter the displayed connection details manually. Both devices remember the pairing.
  4. Grant Camera and Local Network access when prompted, then tap Start streaming. Keep NoSub Cam in the foreground while streaming.
  5. Choose camera, orientation, resolution, frame rate, and supported sensor settings from NoSub Studio. Save a preset to reuse them.
  6. For video-call apps, install/approve the desktop camera component, click Enable NoSub Camera, then select NoSub Camera in the video app. OBS is optional.

The iPhone cannot connect over Wi-Fi

Confirm both devices are on the same private Wi-Fi, Local Network permission is enabled for NoSub Cam, and the computer firewall allows NoSub Studio. If using a VPN, enable its LAN/local-network traffic option or disconnect it for the test. Do not use 127.0.0.1 as the receiver address on the iPhone. If the computer's local address changes, scan the pairing QR again.

Direct USB does not list the iPhone

Unlock the iPhone, reconnect a data-capable cable, accept the Trust prompt, and refresh devices in NoSub Studio. Windows requires the Apple Mobile Device driver/service. macOS supplies the required service.

Camera or Local Network permission was denied

Open iOS Settings → Privacy & Security, then enable NoSub Cam under Camera and Local Network.

Safe diagnostics

Pairing keys and private stream URLs grant access to the local receiver. Treat them as private. The key is remembered across restarts; use Reset pairing in NoSub Studio to revoke it.

Network

Wi-Fi video is not encrypted. Use only a trusted local network and never forward the receiver port from your router.
